Local: Japanese Art Day @Lansing Art Gallery

From an email:  The Michigan-Shiga Sister State cordially invite you to our Family Day, this Sunday, 4 August 2013 from 1pm to 4pm at the Lansing Art Gallery. Family Day will feature free fun crafts and activities with our six visiting professionals artists from Shiga Prefecture, Japan. Kids can learn to make their own Japanese paper crafts such as summertime festival fans, fish kite pictures, coloring pages and more!

The Lansing Art Gallery is located at 119 Washington Square in downtown Lansing, just a few blocks away from the Capitol building. You can learn more about the gallery at their website: http://lansingartgallery.org/

This activity is presented as part of the Art from the Lakes special exhibit of Japanese contemporary artwork from Michigan’s sister state in Japan, Shiga Prefecture.  Additionally, we will be hosting master technique classes throughout the artists’ residency in Michigan next week – the schedule for the classes is attached.

All of the Art from the Lakes events and activities are FREE and OPEN TO ALL! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email me directly.
